Techno Influenced Music
is characterized by strongly synthesized sounds, featuring electronic keyboards, samplers, sequencing, drum programming and other non-acoustic mixes. It is sometimes used as a 'catch all' for related styles such as ambient, trance, or rave. The 'hardest' form of techno is similar to Heavy Metal, except that the distorted guitars are replaced by distorted synthesizer and drum machine sounds. Techno influenced music typically has a driving beat and is high energy in nature. Another genre influence, electronica, serves to describe techno-based music that can be used for home listening as well as on the dance floor (since many electronica artists are club DJs as well). Subgenres include the following: Techno-Tribal, Acid Techno, Ambient Techno, Detroit Techno, Electro-Techno, Techno-Dub, Hardcore Techno, Techno Bass, Minimal Techno, and Experimental Techno. |
