Biography

|
Viktor is an accomplished pianist, composer, creative performing artist, and producer of fifteen studio CDs and one live concert CD with Brain/Mind Specialist Dr. Jeffrey Thompson. His performances consist of original, popular and classically inspired solo piano compositions, as well as improvised new material inspired especially by the audience. He is a passionate musician with the gift to "play by ear." Viktor's music breathes a fresh sense of divine peace into all listening hearts. His playing style has been described as a cross between George Winston and Chopin. He has been compared to Beethoven by other musicians.
Born of Latvian parents and educated in both English and Latvian language, Viktor began playing piano at eight years old. Every Saturday, he would go to Latvian school where he would learn Latvian language, history, literature, culture, sing in the choir and practice folk dancing. His teens aroused a deep interest in his ethnic roots, where he learned to play the Latvian harp "Kokle" and also the trumpet. Also a baritone vocalist, he performed with Latvian choir ensembles in Los Angeles Stadium, Seattle Stadium, Ottawa, Chicago and San Francisco. Viktor composed his first musical score- a "Kantate", after studying with accomplished Toronto Symphony Pianist Arthur Ozolins, whom he gives credit for his style and gentle touch.
In the late 80's, Viktor's true nature and expertise came together to reveal the purpose of his music when he performed in a series of live concerts with Dr. Jeffrey D. Thompson, a renowned expert on the healing effects of sound. "From The Stars" was inspired by this new direction. It was 10 yea | |
