Biography
|
|
|
| Composer, performer, and teacher Sarah Baker has been writing and recording American music for over twenty-five years. She has recorded four CDs, including a compilation of Delta Blues, titled "Maybe Someday" and an album of original songs called "Sarah Baker". Her performances and recordings have received popular and critical acclaim. Other related activities include musical composition and direction for theater as well as a production of recordings for other artists. Her string quartet and multi-media event "Inneracts" was commissioned by and presented at the twelfth annual conference on Virginia Woolf at Sonoma State University. In addition to the intersections of music and literature, Ms. Baker's research interests include American music and cultural studies, electronic music composition and performance, and Hindustani classical singing. In 2004, Ms. Baker received her Ph.D. in Creative Arts: Music and Language from The Union Institute. Currently, she lectures in Music and English at Sonoma State University. |
