    Biography
    Memphis Exchange is:

    Jason Scott Evans (Lead Vocals, Rhythm Guitar)
    A gifted vocalist blessed with a vibrant personality and boyish good looks. Jason Scott Evans has dominated the California Bay Area music scene since the early 90s. Jasons diverse musical repertoire demonstrates a union between the strength of Rock and Roll and the heart and soul of country. His love of performing began in early school days when he performed in class plays and shows. During his higher education, Jason successfully landed lead roles in a number of campus productions. A self-taught expert with the guitar, he is still grateful to his brother Lyle, for the gift of his first guitar. Like most teenagers growing up in the early 70s and 80s, Jason gravitated towards the popular performers at the time. Artist like Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Cat Stevens and the Eagles all left an indelible mark on Jason, which can be heard today in his heartfelt and keenly crafted original lyrics. His musical influences have not been narrow however, as evident in his attraction to AC/DC, Van Morrison and more recently, Sublime, Kid Rock and Beck. The visual images he evokes are imaginatively vivid and rich with emotion. His best known work to date has been as the lead singer for Southern Exposure and Silvercreek. Playing top country venues like the Saddlerack and Old Cowtown in San Jose, and the South 40 and Horseshoe Club. As a cross over rocker he also enjoys recognition in the Bay Area club scene playing venues like; Little Joeys, The Driftwood, Donovans, and the Rainbow Room.

    Randy McGowan (Bass, background vocals, band manager)
    Randy has been involved in the music industry for 35 years. From studio musician to composer and arranger, from blues, children's music, gospel, country, jazz, to rock and roll, this guy has done it all. He is the founder and manager of Memphis Exchange. Randy has produced over 25 albums. He has produced everything from demos to complete albums. He is an accomplished accompanist as well as competent band leader. Some of the artists Randy has worked with include Little Charlie and the Night Cats and Gospel singer Danibelle Hall. Randy has also provided music for televison commercials as well as film sound tracks.

    Craig Pexton (Lead Guitar, vocals)
    In the Bay Area and beyond, Craig has played guitar professionally for over 25 years. He spent 10 years playing and recording in Nashville, and touring nationally and internationally with artists such as Freddy Fender, Bobby Bare, the McCarter Sisters and David Ball. Locally, Craig has performed with a number of popular bands including Memphis Exchange, Fred McCarty and Stampede. He excels at a variety of styles, including country, classic rock, blues and oldies.

    Sammy Aiello (Drums)
    Sammy began playing drums in 1978, and played with the Tex Williams band and members of Rick Nelsons Stone Canyon Band. He relocated from the Los Angeles area and has been performing with Memphis Exchange for the past four years. He has also performed with Steve Wariner, Fred McCarty, Southern Exposure, Jeffrey Steele and the Back Street Band. Sammy has a loyal following and is experienced at a variety of musical styles.

    Staff Notes
    Although they hail from the San Francisco Bay area, don't expect any New Age
    atmospherics or hippie jam rock from this band. The music of Memphis Exchange
    is well matched with their name and captures sound of the south and the harmonies of the heartlands. While their music has a decidedly country flavor, elements of bluegrass, rock, blues, swing, rockabilly, and a touch of pop round out the sound. - Michael Diamond, SongPeddler
